Honorary escorts will be Frank Keith, Jeff Meahl, Henry Strickland and Lindsey Scott.Douglas Patrick Strickland, 58, was born Jan. 24, 1960, the son of William Taylor and Matilda (Muti) Strickland. He died April 15, 2018, at his home in Springfield.He was born overseas while his father was serving his country.He graduated from high school in Virginia and obtained his master’s degree in computer science from American University in Washington, D.C.He then went to work for 21 years as a computer consultant for various U.S. government projects.In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting and restoring watches and novelty cars.Douglas was preceded in death by his father, William Taylor Strickland.Survivors include his mother, Matilda Strickland; and many nieces, nephews and others who all truly will miss him.
